Amanda accepts briefs to advise and appear in all areas of law. She is most extensively experienced in public law and statutory interpretation and has a growing practice in the prosecution and defence of regulatory offences. She has appeared in the High Court, the Full Court of the Federal Court, the NSW Court of Appeal, the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal, the Federal Court, the NSW Supreme Court and in other courts and tribunals. Prior to coming to the Bar, Amanda worked as a Senior Solicitor at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office, where she had a varied practice of litigation and advice work, mainly concerned with judicial review, administrative review, privacy, constitutional law, and statutory interpretation. Amanda’s book, “Judicial Review of Non-Statutory Executive Action” was published by the Federation Press in 2020and was the fruit of her doctorate, awarded by the University of Sydney in 2019. Amanda is a Fellow of the Gilbert + Tobin Centre for Public Law and has lectured in administrative law and constitutional law. She continues to present and publish in these areas. Amanda began her career at what is now King & Wood Mallesons, before working as the Associate to the Hon. Justice Branson at the Federal Court of Australia.
