Matthew is a leading senior barrister specialising in commercial, media, defamation, privacy and adminstrative law. He practises internationally in disputes related to human rights, privacy, media and defamation law. Matthew has advised and appeared for prominent traditional media and social media platforms including Google Inc, Meta Platforms Inc, Facebook Inc, Instagram LLC and Twitter Inc. Traditional media clients include: the ABC, the Australian Associated Press, Australian News Channel Pty Ltd, Fairfax Media Publications Pty Ltd, the Guardian News and Media Limited, Nationwide News Pty Ltd, the Nine Network Australia Pty Ltd and the Special Broadcasting Service Corporation. From time to time, Matthew has also appeared for those seeking to protect their reputation (including judicial officers) as well as Federal and Territory governments. Additionally, Matthew acts as a mediator and is also an arbitrator approved by the NSW Bar Association.
