Professional Summary

Jackson is a commercial barrister specialising in complex investigations and dispute resolution. Jackson is recognised for his technical acumen, his strategic thinking and ability to provide astute commercial advice. Prior to coming to the bar Jackson regularly acted for large corporations, SMEs and individuals, and advised them in the following areas: corporate and commercial; bankruptcy and insolvency; competition and consumer; property and strata; employment and workers’ compensation; negligence and insurance; crime (corporate and regulatory); administrative law, including privacy and information; and wills and estates. As a solicitor Jackson had extensive experience litigating before all courts in New South Wales and the Commonwealth on behalf of a broad array of clients. He is adept at alternative dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert determination and has negotiated favourable settlements for many clients, avoiding trial and reducing costs. Jackson has a passion for constitutional law and legal empowerment. Over the years, he has implemented legal empowerment projects and advised on human rights matters in Southern Africa, for which he was awarded a Soros Fellowship at Central European University and a grant to Oxford University. Jackson has been recognised by the Australian government for his services to the law in international development.
